NBIA Hosts International Business Incubation Conference
in San Antonio
April 24, 2008
ATHENS, Ohio –Hundreds of business development
experts from across the globe will join the National
Business Incubation Association in San Antonio May 4-7
for the 22nd International Conference on Business Incubation.
With the theme Innovation for a Strong Economy and
Healthy Planet, the event will feature more than
60 educational sessions to help business development
professionals learn about creating sustainable incubation
programs and nurturing entrepreneurial talent. Alexandria
Real Estate Equities is the title sponsor of the event.
Business incubation programs catalyze the process of
starting and growing companies by providing entrepreneurs
with the expertise, networks and tools they need to
make their ventures successful. NBIA estimates that
in 2005 alone, North American incubators assisted more
than 27,000 start-up companies that provided full-time
employment for over 100,000 workers and generated annual
revenue of more than $17 billion. Approximately 5,000
business incubation programs operate worldwide.
The 22nd International Conference on Business Incubation
is open to all incubation program personnel, as well
as economic development and business leaders, policymakers,
educators and others who are interested in encouraging
business incubation and entrepreneurship.
The Texas Research and Technology Foundation will serve
as this year’s conference host, and the Grand
Hyatt San Antonio is the conference headquarters. For
