Present at NBIA’s 2011 conference

NBIA is now accepting proposals from individuals who are interested in presenting at the 25th International Conference on Business Incubation,
April 10-13, 2011, in San Jose, Calif. We are seeking proposals for full- and half-day workshops to be presented during the Preconference Institute and 75-minute sessions to be presented during the conference. EDA seeks input on improving grant process

The U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) – a longtime funder of business incubators – is reviewing its grant process to ensure that the agency continues to meet the needs of American communities. EDA is working to make its grant approval process more competitive, transparent and efficient. In order to create a system that works best for its stakeholders, EDA is inviting comments and suggestions on the proposed new process. Click here to read more.

NBIA leader testifies at congressional hearing

NBIA President & CEO David Monkman testified Wednesday, March, 17, before the U.S. House of Representatives Small Business Committee. During the hearing, “Business Incubators and Their Role in Job Creation,” Monkman advocated for the need for greater awareness and support for business incubation in the United States – especially as Congress examines ways to create jobs and turn around the struggling economy.
